Get organised. Stay organised.

Whether you’re getting back into the school run routine, starting back at uni or trying to give your business a big push for the final quarter of the year, we've all got our reasons for wanting to get organised this autumn. For me, I’ve committed to the 'My Brilliant Brand' Insta challenge which I’ll tell you more about later. The challenge takes a lot of forward-planning - and I need all the help I can get.

But, as they say, a problem shared is a problem halved - so, in this week’s blog I’m going to share a few tips and products that are helping me to stay on track with what I’m aiming to achieve.

Lists, Lists, Lists.

When you’re faced with a thousand things to do, I always feel a good list helps. Simply getting all those niggly little tasks out of my busy brain and down onto paper immediately makes me feel more in control. I keep a few notebooks and list pads - some at home, some in the shop and even one by my bed. That way, if I remember something important or have a lightbulb moment, I can capture my thoughts ready to act upon them later.

Get to know your body clock.

We’re all different and that’s what makes the world so special. Some of us are early birds, whereas others would call ourselves night owls. There’s no right or wrong way to do things, but it’s important to get to know your own rhythm. By recognising when you’re most motivated and maybe least productive, you can plan your day accordingly. For me, I’ve learnt not to feel guilty for taking breaks. A short walk, little snack or blast of music, and I can come back to my laptop feeling refreshed and raring to go.

Make time for the things you love.

No matter how busy we get, it’s so important to make time for the things that make us happy. By getting organised and planning ahead, we can assign time to hobbies - maybe gardening or cooking - meeting friends and exciting trips away. Having some time away from your business is not a bad thing - this is something I have to remind myself. It’s healthy to switch off and give something else your focus. It will keep the magic and love you have for your business alive for much longer, and give you the energy you need to keep driving it forward. So here’s to no more guilt!

My Brilliant Brand.

So - what am I working on at the moment? Scrolling through Instagram this week, I spotted The Brand Stylist’s 10-day Instagram Challenge - #MyBriliantBrand. It’s exactly what I need right now. Following these prompts, I will be posting content that is centred around me and my small business. It will get my creative juices flowing and help me to remember all the reasons I started HBK and think about everything that helped me make it to my 4-year mark last month. Keep your eyes glued to the HBK’s Instagram - I hope you enjoy the things I post.

New stationery for you and your goals.

In honour of this week’s blog, I’ve just added a bunch of new StudioWald stationery to the website and coach house. I can give you all the tips and advice in the world, but in truth, not much motivates me to get to work more than a fresh supply of good-looking stationery! Go take a look now…
